StrategyValor

Who it is for

StrategyValor is for procurement teams that want to develop and implement a clear strategy for each category. The ProcureValor suite is aimed at companies, SMEs, private equity and consultancies with procurement spend of up to around CHF 800 million. There are suitable models for smaller companies too.

StrategyValor uses data from the entire suite: spend from SpendValor, tenders from SourceValor, contracts from ContractValor and recoveries from MarginValor. The dashboard shows these modules at a glance, together with what to do today. Suppliers, categories and contracts are entered only once.

StrategyValor is also available separately. You can start with this module and add others when it suits you.

For consultancies and private equity, StrategyValor is also available under their own brand through AdvisorValor, with clients strictly separated. This makes it possible to develop category strategies for several clients or portfolio companies in your own corporate design.

You are free to choose the model: StrategyValor is available with a licence or on a success-based model. StrategyValor is developed in Switzerland and 100 % hosted in Switzerland.

StrategyValor

How it works in practice

In StrategyValor, work on a category follows four steps.

  1. Choose the category: spend, suppliers, contracts and risks appear at a glance. The data comes from the suite; suppliers, categories and contracts are entered only once.
  2. Review the levers: the team checks every lever. Rejected levers are recorded with a reason. This keeps it traceable later why an option was not pursued.
  3. Build initiatives: the suitable levers become initiatives. Each one gets a baseline and a source, so its later impact can be measured against a clear starting point.
  4. Approve and hand over: approved initiatives go to the executing module. A tender runs in SourceValor, a negotiation in TermsValor, a contract change in ContractValor.

StrategyValor then tracks implementation and impact for each initiative. Anyone who has to prioritise measures sees all initiatives of a category in one place, each with its baseline and source. Because all modules work on the same data foundation, figures do not have to be copied by hand between spreadsheets.

StrategyValor

An example

Example, fictitious: A mid-sized manufacturing company wants to reset its strategy for the packaging category.

In the first step, StrategyValor shows spend, suppliers, running contracts and risks for this category. The team notices that volume is spread across only a few suppliers and that two contracts will expire soon.

The team then checks every lever. Bundling and a new tender are options. A change to the specification is rejected because production cannot adapt the packaging at present. The reason is recorded.

This results in two initiatives, each with a baseline and a source: a tender for the expiring contracts and a renegotiation with the largest supplier. After approval, the tender goes to SourceValor and the negotiation to TermsValor. The new contracts are managed in ContractValor.

In StrategyValor, procurement tracks how far each initiative has progressed and what impact it shows. Next year, work on the category does not start from scratch, because the levers checked and rejected are documented with their reasons.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

What is a category strategy?

A category strategy defines, for each category, which measures procurement will implement. StrategyValor builds category strategies and measures based on data from the whole ProcureValor suite. For each category you see spend, suppliers, contracts and risks at a glance. On that basis you review the levers, build initiatives and track implementation and impact.

How do you create a procurement strategy?

With StrategyValor, a procurement strategy for each category is created in four steps. First, choose the category and see spend, suppliers, contracts and risks. Second, check every lever and record rejected ones with a reason. Third, build initiatives, each with a baseline and a source. Fourth, approve and hand over to the executing module: SourceValor, TermsValor or ContractValor.

What data does StrategyValor use?

StrategyValor uses data from the entire ProcureValor suite. For each category it shows spend, suppliers, contracts and risks. The dashboard shows the modules at a glance, with spend, tenders, contracts and recoveries, and what to do today. Together, all modules share one data foundation: suppliers, categories and contracts are entered only once.

How do you prioritise procurement measures?

In StrategyValor you assess and prioritise measures for each category. First, every lever is checked; rejected ones are recorded with a reason. Every initiative gets a baseline and a source. Once approved, it goes to the executing module: SourceValor for tenders, TermsValor for negotiations or ContractValor for contracts. You then track implementation and impact in StrategyValor.

Who is StrategyValor for?

StrategyValor is for procurement teams that develop and implement strategies for each category. The ProcureValor suite is aimed at companies, SMEs, private equity and consultancies with procurement spend of up to around CHF 800 million; there are suitable models for smaller companies too. Consultancies and private equity can use StrategyValor under their own name through AdvisorValor.

How much does StrategyValor cost?

StrategyValor is available with a licence or on a success-based model. You can start with StrategyValor alone and add further modules of the ProcureValor suite when it suits you. To enquire, tell us briefly what you have in mind; we will get back to you personally. You can also book a call directly online.

Can StrategyValor be used without the whole suite?

Yes, StrategyValor is available separately and is also part of the ProcureValor suite. Together with the other modules, they all share one data foundation: suppliers, categories and contracts are entered only once. StrategyValor hands approved initiatives over to SourceValor, TermsValor or ContractValor. One login covers all modules.

Where is StrategyValor data stored and how secure is it?

StrategyValor runs on the shared ProcureValor core, our own software built with Python, Django and PostgreSQL. Clients are strictly separated, every change is recorded in the audit trail, and sign-in uses a one-time code without a password. Connections run over HTTPS only, with HSTS, no trackers and no CDN. Rheinvalor develops the software itself. StrategyValor is developed in Switzerland and 100 % hosted in Switzerland.
